Editor’s Note: Five NAPSters are participating in the NAPS Science Communicators program, for which they will be conducting interviews/podcasts and creating social media posts throughout the week!
One of the participants is Stephanie Voss from the Mass General Brigham, USA. Learn more about Stephanie and hear from her own words below.
‘Hello everyone! My name is Stephanie and I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow in pain research at Mass General Brigham. My research focuses on the role of interoception and sensory sensitivity in chronic pain, and the use of movement-based mind-body strategies, like yoga, for pain and symptom management. I have a particular interest in adapting yoga-based interventions for hypermobility syndromes and adolescent/young adult populations. My clinical background is in occupational therapy, and I continue to incorporate my clinical experiences and those of my patients into my ongoing research questions!
Outside of work, I maintain my own yoga practice, enjoy baking, gardening, reading, and cuddling with my two sweet cats. I am honored to have been selected as a NAPSter and science communicator for NAPS this year and am very much looking forward to meeting and learning from an international group of pain experts!’
